Cairns is Queensland's premium tourist location and home to the top of the Barrier Reef. Cairns is only 40km away from Port Douglas another well known and popular tourist location very similar to Noosa on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Between Cairns and Port Douglas is an interesting coastline of sand and rock beaches, mangroves and palm trees that line the sandy banks.
Our collection of images from the area also includes the start of the Daintree Rainforest with various images of the Mossman River system and the inland walks.

Palm Cove located about 20 minutes drive north of Cairns is probably the best beach in the area, especially for photographers because of the great palm trees that sit along the sand. Certainly is a popular area surrounded by high end hotels and cafes. Wouldn't be hard to spend a week or two sitting on the beach and enjoying the fine accommodation and restaurants.
