Another cracker of a sunset last night, making it 5 in a row. Out teaching a private course on the Northern Beaches and decided Collaroy Baths would be a great advantage point to shoot the magic show that you could see was going to happen.
Panoramic stitch on the 5D MkII | Two stop Lee ND soft and One stop ND hard. Bugger all photoshop editing.
Out teaching again today, awesome sunrise, lets see how the sunset goes…. maybe 6 in a row… is that too much to ask 🙂

sweet sky and have fun teaching…
“The Last Waltz” is playing right now.Can you feel and hear it?Matt! This image brings back these feelings for me,so touching and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.Merry Christmas &Happy New Year
Thanks Diana, your kind comments this year have been appreciated. Have a great Christmas yourself.
nice image…how come you used a mix of soft and hard?
Mitch it is just what was required to control the light how I wanted. The one stop hard gives you that little bit of extra detail where the two stop soft starts to fade off.
Nice imate here mate – lovely colour in the sky. Interesting to see you’re cropping to the 4:1 ratio too. The extra wide aspect gives the viewer a real sense of a ‘window to the scene’ rather than merely an image on a wall.
Happy new year mate – hope to catch up sooner rather than later
Thanks Tim. Yea we will have to catch up for sure. Looking forward to it.
Hi Matt, just found your blog off Flemmings, had a little look. Awesome image of Collaroy Beach, love that sky!
Cheers Adam
